Dental Implant Procedure

The dental implant process requires a surgical procedure that is performed at your Dentists clinic. It is a relatively painless procedure usually done under local anesthesia or IV sedation.

Step 1. Consultation / Diagnosis:

Your dentist will evaluate your medical and dental conditions to see if dental implants are appropriate for you.

Step 2. Implanting the fixture (root replacement)

Your dentist will open the gum tissue where you are missing teeth. The dentist will then place the implant fixture directly into the jaw bone.

This fixture will adhere to the jaw bone as it heals, and serve as the new root for your permanent tooth replacement.

Step 3. Abutment Replacement

After the healing process, the dentist will select appropriate abutment and place it onto the fixture. Abutmentis a device that supports your new crown and connects it to the implant fixture.

Step 4. Attaching your new permanent dental restoration (crown or bridge)

A custom made crown or bridge will be designed and made to blend with the surrounding teeth. This crown will be placed on top of the abutment and functions as if it were your original tooth.
